Thirty Five

We’re going into winter with thirty five quail, and even if there are too many roosters, the number means warmth.

Little Goose Coop

OK, so it’s a quail coop, and not a goose coop. But they are little. And it’s more a pen, with a coop built into one end, but it does, at least, include one.

Garlic Day

There’s starting to be a ritual to planting garlic.

Fall Bees

Saskatraz bees seem to be well-suited to Minnesota, so far. As they prepare for the upcoming winter, I keep the sugar syrup coming.

Showing Off

Ah, the cuteness!! The chicks that hatched are super healthy, friendly, and show-offy.

Breathe

It’s been a crazy few days. And weeks! I’ve learned a lot, in this time, mostly what the birds teach me. Thank goodness the new coop is to a usable point. And the hatchlings are doing fine outside. And The bees really didn’t decide to swarm when it rained non-stop and I was super busy.
