Last evening, we picked up two sweet little family additions. Henry and Marcia are button quail.
We have no idea how old they are, as they were originally rescues. Henry doesn’t appear to have red eyes yet, and maybe he never will, but that normal color change wouldn’t happen at a younger age. We know they are more than eight months.
They don’t like to be touched, or even looked at – ha! So I’m trying to let them have their space to settle in. It must be very spooky to have been uprooted, and to have giants milling around.
I’m so grateful for these two. I can’t wait to see how they act once they settle in. I can’t wait to see the eggs she will hopefully lay.
Sorry for the image quality. They really are fearful and speedy, and I had to keep my distance while photographing blurs.
