Book Review: Where the Crawdads Sing

book cover

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my favorite book. I watched the movie twice in as many days. I cried from the start of it both times. And then I did the same while reading the book, which the movie somewhat differs from. As expected, the book is better. The story isn’t all sadness over human ugliness or the aftermath. It’s also great triumph, and moments of kindness. Through character, the reader doesn’t just observe nature. There is a oneness with it. Plot, setting and character are artfully crafted.
