The new raised garden beds went from plan to project to, “Hope something grows,” to mostly a success, so far. The tomatoes and peppers I started inside had to stay inside for a bit too long. Minnesota spring is fickle. Those plants are still a question mark, although I think the tomatoes will do fine. Every kind of veggie that was planted in each raised bed is growing. It’s June 9th, and I think the threat of snow is over. That was halfway a joke.
There are finally some honey bees in the yard, although it’s mainly bumblebees and mason bees making an appearance. The raspberries have been a hit. This will mean more berries for us. And the birds.
Spring has been busy. I’ve made a beehive, raised garden beds, a weird-looking pallet privacy screen, and a few other things. With most extra projects handled, it’s time to make some batches of soap. First, I thought I’d enjoy the yard a little bit, and the company of some of my neighbors.
