A little bird told us it’s spring. These two house sparrows are nesting in one of the houses my daughter and I put up last year.

While house sparrows are bullies, they don’t seem to be keeping the nuthatches, cardinals, or chickadees away. They’ve all frequented the feeders for years.
We didn’t get the couple of feet of snow that they had predicted over the past two days. We are buried under plenty of the white stuff though. This will give me some time for indoor activities, like painting the extra hive boxes I made, and making birdhouses out of the leftover lumber.
And making soap.
